Coach Phillips has been coaching goalkeepers for more than 10 years and played the position himself for more than 40.

Coach Phillips holds the United Soccer Coaches level I, II and III diplomas for Goalkeeper coaching plus the USC Advance national Diploma for coaching goalkeepers. In addition to the goalkeeper specific coaching certifications he also holds United Soccer Coaches Advanced National Diploma and Premier Diploma. Coach has completed the US Soccer Federation National C License. Is first aid certified and carries the required concussion training and Safesport certifications.

Coach Phillips is also the Men's and Women's Head Soccer coach at Treasure Valley Community College in Ontario, Oregon and has worked as a soccer coach at the college since July 2018.
